Projectors with lamps in them get hot and are sensitive to movement, but they give a nice bright picture with good colours. In the Lab, we have both projectors with LED light sources, and others with high intensity discharge lamps. Keep reading to find out what all those specs under each projector actually mean! Projector HandlingĮvery projector has a light source inside it. They are very big and expensive - we don't have any at LCC! There are also large venue projectors that are much bigger than this - these are the kind used in cinemas or for large scale projections on buildings. They are made to be installed in a location and run continuously for longer periods of time, like during exhibitions. These are the biggest and brightest projector type we have in the Lab.

Ultra-compact pico projectors are great for experimenting, but their size can be limiting. Here are 3 different size projectors we have available for students to use in the Creative Technology Lab: Projectors come in lots of shapes and sizes - some are very robust while others can be quite sensitive, so it's good to understand a little bit about how they work and the ways they can be used.
