The Drive Battery Capacity Care Program will apply from the date of first registration for the warranty period of 8 years or 160,000kms (whichever occurs first). Subject to the terms of the Program, when fully charged, if the battery does not retain at least 66% of its useable energy capacity Mitsubishi Motors will (at its sole discretion and election) repair, replace or otherwise treat the drive battery without cost such that it retains at least 66% of its useable energy capacity. As such, degradation is not covered under the New Car Warranty.įrom 22MY Outlander Plug-in Hybrid vehicles onward, The Drive Battery Capacity Care Program provides for protection against degradation. Gradual capacity loss of the drive battery over its lifetime, known as degradation, is a normal characteristic of this technology and is not caused by defects in materials or factory workmanship.
